Is Fall the time to take your home off the market? I don't think so!

Autumn is here, and the foliage is turning.  Historically, home sale activity slows in the autumn months. That fact contributes to a substantial number of sellers taking their homes off the market. Savvy sellers recognize that this is the PERFECT time for them to list their house for sale.  It's all about supply and demand!  Less homes competing with you!  Realtors have long known that buyers out house hunting at this time of year are SERIOUS buyers, and READY to buy NOW!  Yes, there are fewer buyers out there, but make no mistake, buyers are buying homes 12 months a year. Don't make the mistake of keeping your house off the market during the time of year when you will have the LEAST amount of competition!Historically, the number of home sales in Kootenai County spikes in late spring, dips by mid summer and has a nice little resurgence in the fall.

Janna- What a beautiful photo! I don't think I have seen leaves that brillant! Great informational post for sellers. Also....how can it sell if it isn't on the market!

That's an incredibly gorgeous picture.  Our colors here in Sacramento, aren't quite that vivid.  In fact we are experiencing a longer than usual Summer.  Temperatures today are in the 90s.  It's swimming pool weather:-)

Janna, My 2nd or 3rd best month of the year has always been December, it's funny. I always thought it was maybe because all the other Realtors take off.

Hi, Janna

If Fall in your neck of the woods is as beautiful as this photo, my goodness, what a backdrop this would be. Then you can serve hot cider during open house. Oh, the aroma! The camaraderie!

I remember serving hot cider when it gets cold and rainy, and the folks truly appreciated it. They stayed longer to chat, and were a lot friendlier after the first sip.

And it makes the house pick up the holiday-ish scent which always evokes positive emotions and memories.

Enjoy!
