North Idaho Janna: Win a NEW HOUSE in the NIC Foundatin REALLY BIG RAFFLE!

North Idaho College Foundation Really Big Raffle

For $100 you can buy a 1 in 5000 chance to win a new home in this year's North Idaho College Foundation's Really Big Raffle!  Order early, these tickets sell out!  The drawing will take place July 8, 2009.

All proceeds from the Really BIG Raffle stay at North Idaho College.  Last year, with the help of our community supporters, the foundation was able to raise over $190,000 through the Really BIG Raffle fundraiser.  Proceeds are used for a wide variety of needs, including funding scholarships for students in need, upgrading technology equipment on campus, and capital improvements.

Each year the foundation commits $50,000 of the Really BIG Raffle revenue to the NIC faculty and staff grant program.  Through this process, instructors and staff submit their most needed requests for their area of expertise.  A review board then looks over the grant submissions and selects the requests that they feel would be the most beneficial to the students and college as a whole.

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - City by the LakeJenna, did you know that it was an agent from our Coldwell Banker office that won the 2nd house built?   Pat Regan (yes, Bill Regan's little brother).  Pat is now a builder. Pat's mother purchased a ticket for each one of her children and herself, of course.  I'm not sure if he still holds his license with CBS.  I guess we could look on the WALL.

Hey! your Bloggs are really great... Better each time. You go girl!

Hey Janna, cool site. I'd sure like to win that house, would appreciate more info on it if you can do the sleuthing - what will the property taxes be ? What would the hit be to income tax for the year in each of the three lowest tax brackets to accept the prize and live in the house? If I won it and then took out a loan against title to pay the income tax on the winnings would that qualify me for the $7,500 federal rebate (or whatever it's called ) for first time home buyers? Would you do the math on this and add it to your site info? Would probably be appreciated by more people than just me....

Lynne - Great idea!  I've got a jam packed next few days but I will do the math and post it here the first chance I get.  Hope to see you at the Veronica's wedding next week!

Janna -

When you get the numbers crunched you might have Kerri write it up as an info article for The Press, with a link to your site in the body of the article, so you get more traffic and pull in more clicks for google juice. It would be an interesting article and would probably generate a lot more press for the NIC foundation to boot.

Also think about writing it into the main webpage verbiage on the NIC win a house info, as some people may not know how to access the blog threads. Anyone interested in winning the home would be interested in your numbers. The message boards on HGTV Dream Home sweepstakes show massive thread hits when some CPA somewhere posts numbers like this for potential DH winners, it's always needed.
