It's been a while since I posted a horrible MLS photo for your amazement, so here's one for you. Honestly, it makes me feel like my head is going to explode when I see photos like these being used to market a home!
What are people thinking? I'd say more, but I'm speechless. Hello, anybody home????????

Sellers, please don't settle for this kind of marketing of your home! The photos should highlight your home's best selling features, not make you wonder what that big white thing is on the cluttered counter that the guy with age spots on his hand is pointing to... Geesh.

For Pete's Sake! At least he could have gone to the Zi Spa for a treatment before getting that club-arm photographed! Come on! I know someone who can help, man!!!
Photos like that drive me NUTS!! Makes me wonder if the photographer is blind.
hahaha, i love that one. He looks like he is pointing at the toaster oven.
There are some really humorous pictures posted on the various MLS. I don't spend a lot of time looking for them, but it does make me wonder what the agent was thinking when they posted a particular photo that just DOESN'T do a home justice. Sometimes, I think NOBODY was really looking at the photo when it was posted.
LOL!!! When I'm fried and need a good laugh, I'll often surf the MLS for the top-offenders for things like this and look at the pictures and the descriptions. It was a while back, but I was looking at a $3,000,000 listing and the agent wrote this in the remarks;
Traverteen floors, close to schools, to many upgrades to mention!
I hurt myself because I laughed so hard when I saw this. There is so much wrong with that description, the agent should have immediately lost their license. The pictures were priceless too. 3 pictures for a $3,000,000 property...2 of them totally out of focus.
Just makes it easier for you to get the business over those who market like they're third graders.
Erby - True that!
Oh my. Make you wonder if they even looked at the photos before uploading or just assumed they are an awesome photographer.
I do not understand how sellers can put up with this, better no pictures at all and you take pictures when you are previewing the property.
Bad pictures make me grind my teeth in frustration, but the truth is, most sellers don't check the mls to see what is being shown to the potential buyers.
LOL! I saw one the other day that had one of the owners sitting at their computer in the picture at their desk in the office. I mean it was right in the middle of the picture...
Janna - I couldn't agree with you more, it looks terrible, and what about the hand in the photo?
OK I am NOT a real estate agent, but even I know that this photo is comical! That is pretty funny! (but not for the seller)
Hahahahaha. Oh my. :)
I think the big white thing is a "set it and forget it" rotisserie oven. Looking at the other items on the counter, is that nasal spray? Is including the sellers presecription drugs in the photo really necessary? The responsible agent needs a slap on the head!
Morning Janna,
I believe some agents mindset is, "It's only a job!" without consideration of personal reflection or doing the best for the client... How or why they remain in the business is beyond me. Furthermore, where is the Broker? This lack of professionalism is a direct reflection on the Broker business attitude as well.
What you post about a home shows how motivated you are to sell it and to provide service to your clients. Those photos drive me crazy!
I think that is the funniest picture. I just love the pictures on the MLS that show the front of the house with cars parked in front so you can't even see what the front of the house looks like. One picture actually had a UHaul parked in the driveway and the garage doors opened like the owners were already moving. How's that for selling best features?
Janna-Oh my-It is hard to believe someone would post that picture with a arm sticking out.
Well before I ever read your text, I was wondering what that big white thing on the counter was that the hand was pointing to. LOL
Hi Janna! What is amazing to me is that Sellers don't check up on their listings--WHO would permit this type of marketing? Who would POST it in MLS?
